-?- " mariah carey 'obscene' " -?-
I read this article in The Star newspaper dated 16th Jan '04 and shockingly entitled " PAS wants Carey's 'obscene' concert cancelled ". ![]() D told me about it while I was reading another section of the newspaper, I was like "what the hell"... ..." what is wrong with these people " PAS is claiming it to be an untimely event which conincides with Awal Muharram and also because mariah's well known for her sexy & provocative dressing *Earth to whoever... .... .... .. ... SOOOOOOOOOOO???* The FT PAS Youth Dep Chief was criticising the Gov for allowing such an 'obscene act' and that the party could not accept her 'immoral performance' and the concert was not suitable for M'sians. I mean, how immoral are her performances? does she actually cavort on stage? Oh gawd, I can't imagine they can actually label her as, of all things, 'OBSCENE!!!!!!!!' Why do they have to label her in such a way? It's so not nice and so unfair of them. They're being so presumptious. Have they seen her in concert? If they cannot accept, why did they watch her in concert then? I seriously wonder what was going through their minds til they signed the memorandum and presented it to the Tourism Ministry in protest. The Gov is doing their job in promoting our country to the outside world so that we can move on forward. We're a building nation in need of all necessities in life including entertainment. Music, movies, theatres, television, radio...their all part of the entertainment business. Without entertainment, lots of businesses drop dead. People work hard, study hard throut the whole day, of course we need to loosen up with entertainment. I definitely can't sit in the room everyday studying and studying and studying, without music to listen to(Aya...right?)....movies to watch during weekends free....tv to watch whenever possible....We do have a right for all these don't we? ~ Some may not agree but it's just how I feel ~ Throughout all these years, I've seen so many artistes, avoid coming over to M'sia to perform and they go S'pore or Thailand instead. Even the MTV Asia Awards is held in S'pore yearly. There have been many concerts and shows which were cancelled as well. Why can't Malaysia have its fair share of artistes from abroad coming over to perform? If the only reason is because M'sia is an Islamic country then I don't think it's acceptable at all. There are plenty of Islamic countries in this world......what more can I say... The Linkin Park concert for example. When I first heard that they were coming, I was completely thrilled. Even though I didn't get to see them perform, I was glad they made it. Maggie, Rach and friends went thou...hehehe How often do these artistes actually get to come ~ seriously speaking? The last ultra-huge concert I ever remembered was MJackson's. Now of course, PAS was unhappy about it. Two days ago, I read that Incubus is also coming down for a concert. Wonder what they're gonna say next ~ sigh Back to MCarey, hehe, I'm sure those who's gonna buy tickets for her concert on Feb 22 are not going for any other reason, other than they love her singing. I've listened to her sing since I was about 9 or 10 and has loved her voice ever since. Is it really against the law that I love her singing? Does the title "An Intimate Evening with Mariah Carey – Charmbracelet World Tour" lead people to believe it is something else???? Pretty illogical ain't it???? It's just a name for the concert ~sigh An eye-catching phrase ~ meant for promotional purposes I'm sure....*thank u, MI* Come to think of it, this makes me want to watch her perform when she stops over in KL!!!! Hey Aya, what if we wish for L'arc en ciel to come over and do a concert here =D ~ hahaha....do u think they'll faint??? I'm gonna pray real hard.................. ![]() If you're up for it, then go watch her perform. If not ~ please just stay at home................................................. *annoyed* ####### |
